I wasn’t truly excited when legal cannabis laws were passed in the state of Colorado.
I honestly tried to fight against the drug being legalized, however more than half of the population decided to vote to approve legalizing recreational marijuana in 2012.
I was sad that recreational marijuana would easily turn Denver into a city ravaged with crime, however it has pretty much had the opposite effect. Not only are the crime rates lower, however the amount of tourism has doubled in the past several years. Since recreational marijuana was legalized, my sales have been through the roof. I never had an immense amount of business plus foot traffic, so I was basically forced to spend a huge amount of currency on advertising… All of that changed when a legal recreational dispensary opened up on the corner approximately a block away from my clothing plus jewelry boutique. When the dispensary finally opened, I abruptly got free foot traffic to my shop. People were parked up plus down the street to visit cannabis shops plus my sales started to increase significantly. I do not even need to advertise the shop, because I get 50 or 60 visitors on a daily basis. For a long time, I was sad that legalizing marijuana in Denver, Colorado would lead to a terrible crime rate plus a trashy city, but I was clearly wrong. Since the laws have changed, our town has seen a great deal more tourism, but there is also a lot more currency from taxes that are there to repair the roads, parks, traffic signs, plus colleges. There have not been any setbacks since the state decided to legalize the plant for everyone.
