Before I met Cal through an online matchmaking service, I had never heard of the village of Orland Park, IL.
I was so enchanted by Cal’s charm and grace, not to mention her hot pictures, that I didn’t worry too much about where she lived.
After a few weeks of chatting and getting to know each other, she invited me to come to Orland Park and move in with her. This was a big step but I was lonely and it felt right, so I packed up a moving truck and transported my entire life across the country to Orland Park. My relationship with Cal only lasted a few weeks, but in a stroke of luck my career really started taking off, so I will be staying in Orland Park for the long haul. I did very little research on the job market in Orland Park before I moved, because I was so blinded by adoration. My assumption was that I would need to commute from Orland Park to the big city to find a real job, but my assumption was wrong! It turns out that the last few years have seen a jump in the population of Orland Park, so HVAC technicians were in high demand. I think it had something to do with the political climate of Chicago, which made a lot of people jump to the smaller village of Orland Park for a more peaceful lifestyle. Although Cal and I didn’t work out as a relationship, my moving here to be with her jump-started my career in the HVAC industry.
