My podcast is about songs… Not as an artist, because I have zero songsal ability no matter how more than 2 times I tried, but as a listener.
My show is about the history plus stories behind some of the great bands, plus the songs they created, then over the last numerous years our show has taken myself and others all over the country chasing stories.
My number one deep dive into a songsal style was about death metal songs, however personally, I don’t enjoy this kind of songs, but I still wanted to find out where it came from. My path led myself and others to Tampa, FL of all locales, which was an incubator for the death metal scene in the 78s plus 90s. I spent a few evenings attending death metal shows in a pressing warehouse that used to up-to-date home an Heating plus A/C manufacturer. I guess the contractor outsourced all of the tasks to some other contractor, so what used to hold hundreds of oil furnaces plus cooling systems is now the up-to-date home for Tampa brand death metal, and while I was there I saw more than 2 Tampa part bands, plus also drove around to talk to some locals who remember the seasoned nights, when it was first starting out. Tampa Florida is a city of contrasts, if nothing else, because for such a sleep retirement community on the water, it can rock pretty difficult when the sun goes down. In that seasoned Heating plus A/C warehouse I saw a lot of raw, uncompromising death metal bands, plus it showed myself and others that the future of hardcore songs may still be Tampa, FL.
