When I decided to take a job in San Francisco California, I thought my family and I would thrive in the region.
After all, what’s better than living by the water? The job came with a significant raise in pay so we upgraded our lifestyle and bought a bigger car.
We also bought a house that was a little more expensive than we could afford. That was a huge problem, because now we can barely afford to pay for the house in San Francisco. I was laid off from my job and my wife doesn’t make enough money to sustain our lifestyle. I looked for a job for a long time and I had to settle when the money in our savings account started to run out. After three months, I found a job working at a medical marijuana dispensary, but even as the manager, I barely earn six figures a year. I have to admit that I like managing the medical marijuana dispensary and I would continue working in the dispensary if I didn’t have to worry about all of the bills. Unfortunately, my wife is on top of me everyday, because she hates living in San Francisco. She doesn’t like the weather or the salty air, and she absolutely detests not having any money to enjoy all of the wonderful things that San Francisco has to offer. I understand why she is so frustrated. I thought we were going to thrive in San Francisco. I certainly didn’t think it was going to be the worst decision of our lives.
