My company sent me to Seattle for a six-week assignment.
I arrived a couple of days ago and I haven’t been able to get a lot of sleep.
The corporate house is across the street from a club and cannabis bar. The club is open until 5 a.m. and they serve cannabis and alcohol at all times of the night. It’s extremely loud outside and I consistently hear music blasting from the speakers inside of the club. I would move to a different place, but the corporation pays for this apartment. I would have to spend my own money on a hotel and that’s not going to work for 6 weeks. Last weekend I was really upset and I decided to go across the street to complain to the manager about the noise. I didn’t expect the manager to be a woman that was the same age as me. I expected a young person to work at the Seattle cannabis shop. The woman was much nicer than I expected to, and she immediately apologized for the noise distraction and turned down the sound system. She offered to give me a free cannabis pre-roll to help me sleep better that evening. I told the cannabis shop manager that I was not a marijuana smoker. She insisted that I needed to learn more about medical and recreational marijuana and offered to take me out for a night in Seattle to show me a good time. I didn’t expect to find a date when I went to the marijuana bar to complain, but that is exactly what occurred on that night.
