Last summer, a big storm caused a lot of injure in the city… It was particularly the most severe storm that Glenview, Illinois has ever seen. I have lived in Glenview for 25 years and I’ve never seen anything like that storm, however the two of us had 55 mph winds and rain that was falling like daggers of ice. The rain was so heavy at times that the power was knocked out. The roads were completely washed out from the rain, then a tree fell on a single of the power lines and power was out in our town as well as many others. The storm also knocked a tree down in the front yard. The tree landed right on top of the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C unit. The Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C unit was completely crushed when the tree fell to the ground… Power went out to the cabin when it occurred. The two of us were afraid to turn on the power due to the fire hazard… Neighbors across the street came outside to check on us, because the tree fell with such an incredibly forceful said. If every one of us had been kneeling outside, every one of us would have surely been killed. The two of us were lucky that the tree fell on the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C unit instead of the roof. The injures would have been much more severe. Thankfully, the insurance company covered all of the injures after the storm. I suppose it helps to have a local insurance company… My insurance broker knew exactly how horrible the storm had been and she did not question any of the injures when I submitted the insurance appraisal to the Glenview company.
