Doing a podcast about Plano

During the day I work as an HVAC repair tech, which is a very lucrative career in Plano, Texas.

  • The summers are wicked, and the winters can get shockingly cold at times, which means I have job security all year around.

Thanks to such high demand for quality HVAC work I make a good living, and have a set schedule with a lot of free time. At night, and on weekends, I work on my true passion, which is podcasting. I have been hosting my own podcast for about a year now, and finally I am starting to build some momentum. The whole concept behind the show was to talk to the notable people of Plano, both currently and from the past. Outsiders usually don’t know this, but there are hundreds of famous people who have called Plano home at one time or another. Olympic and professional athletes, authors and scholars, leaders and politicians, comedians and actors – Plano seems to be a breeding ground for talent and intelligence. Thanks to modern technology I can communicate with these people even if they no longer live in the Plano area. For my podcast usually I feature an interview with one of the famous sons or daughters of Plano, sometimes in person but usually over Zoom. My biggest guest so far was an actor from Plano named Alan Tudyk, who was very kind, although he couldn’t talk for very long. One day I hope to be successful enough at podcasting that I can sell my HVAC company to one of my Plano rivals, and work on my podcast full time!
