Visiting dispensary on trip to balloon festival in Albuquerque

My boyfriend and I planned our trip to Albuquerque in October, in order to attend the International Balloon Fiesta.

It’s something that I’ve always wanted to experience. It is the largest hot air balloon festival and the images online are truly stunning. It is believed to be the most photographed event in the world and draws in a huge crowd of participants and spectators from across the world. The festival lasts for nine days, and there are hundreds of balloons in the sky at a time. There’s skydiving, a light show, fireworks, chainsaw carving, twilight balloon glows and all sorts of things to do and enjoy. Our trip did not disappoint. While the accommodations were expensive and parking was somewhat of a nightmare, my boyfriend and I had an amazing time. The weather was absolutely perfect with pure blue skies and loads of sunshine. As an added bonus, recreational weed is totally legal and accessible in Albuquerque. Coming from a state that has not yet adopted medicinal or recreational marijuana, we were especially excited to shop at a dispensary. The size of the dispensary and number of products was really surprising. We weren’t expecting a dab bar, vape lounge and on-site bakery. The choices were a bit overwhelming. I wanted to try everything. The collection of dried flower included over fifty different strains. We had our choice of infused pre-rolled joints, disposable vape pens, gummies, chocolates, brownies, tinctures, waxes, shatters, hash, and even cannabis-infused beverages. The only drawback is that it’s illegal to transport cannabis across state lines. We couldn’t bring anything home with us.
