My work bumps me around the United States a lot.

I frequently have to attend meetings and seminars for more training.

I am more than happy to do it though. I love to learn and the more I learn, the more chances I have of getting promoted and making more money. I also am not opposed to traveling and moving to a new state for my job. Those factors have really worked in my favor in the workplace. Traveling is fun since I get to see a lot of different states and experience the cities in them. I love going to a place that I have never gone before. I ended up in Alabama for the first time in my life. During the winter in Alabama it was cold. I wasn’t expecting that. I kind of thought that Alabama would be warm to the point that a heating system wouldn’t be needed. Tuscaloosa, AL can get into the 30s and even drop into the 20s on particularly cold days. Thank goodness I checked the Tuscaloosa weather before packing for the trip. I would have packed t-shirts and pants. Instead I bought a coat, hat, gloves, and boots just in case of snow. Alabama just doesn’t seem like a cold state to me. My hotel had the heating system cranked the entire time I was there. I had a radiator right in my room that was blowing out hot air so I could sleep. Every place of business in Tuscaloosa was relying on heating too. It was a great trip, just unexpedly cold. I am hopeful that I can visit that same location again, just in the summertime. There were things I missed due to the cold and not feeling ambitious enough.

I really like going for hikes.

Anytime I find myself in a different state, I look for neat hikes to do. I want to see different sights and experience new wild and plant life. My husband is more than a game too. He always wants to do hardcore hikes where you camp and are at it for days on end. Me, I am a one day type of gal. I want an easy route, a good thing to see and to know I am getting a bathroom and a shower soon. Going to Phoenix was great for me. I got to enjoy a swanky hotel in the city. I got a facial while my husband played golf. We then went to Hole in the rock and Camelback Mountain to see some cool things. There was also Papago Park. It was just what we needed. Good hiking, great sights, but nothing too taxing. My husband eats sunflower seeds and spits the shells while we hike. I listen to movie soundtracks to relax me. Once we reach our destination we take some pictures and just relax. We really timed the weather well too. We went in the fall where things were starting to cool down. You got less tourists but no intense heat. I enjoyed that I could wear pants and a t-shirt and be totally comfortable. The hotel didn’t even bother with heating at that point either. It just wasn’t that cold.

I am watching the show Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team.

It is honestly quite fascinating to watch.

I love that all these women come from different states, are different ages, and all have unique training. You get gymnasts, ballerinas, hip hop dancers, and professional cheerleaders trying out. I love seeing the eclectic mix and their solo dances. I was surprised by how many Texas natives there are trying out. Also, the word Plano got thrown around a lot. I thought maybe it was a dance or cheerleading thing. Plano was attached to quite a few women trying out. After some research I realized that Plano, Texas is a small city near the stadium they are trying out. Most of the women are either from there or looking at housing in the area. It made me wonder if that is all Plano is known for. I did a bit of research on Plano, TX things to do. They have nature preserves and good museums, but nothing that screams a tourist destination. It is a nice area and the weather is just beautiful. I bet it is nice for those dancers to live. They get a gorgeous, long summer season and a brief winter season. They might experience snow, but rarely get more than a light dusting. Then they get to cheer and dance for a living. That kind of sounds like the high life to me. The only thing I wouldn’t like is wearing a crop top and those small shorts all the time. They also have to do all their workouts totally made up and with hair hanging down. That would stink.

The men practice basically all year around and even will play on the pond that freezes in our backyard. For us, the chilly weather isn’t a sizable deal at all. It is legitimately one of the reasons my friend and I like Illinois so much.
